Una pieza única hecha con plantas recolectadas durante el confinamiento

Simultáneamente al momento único que vivimos, ha surgido este diseño tan bello como especial. Una edición del Top TIMESTILL realizada artesanalmente por Taller Silvestre en colaboración con la firma británica COSSAC mediante ECOPRINT. Se trata de una técnica de estampación botánica que utiliza las plantas directamente sobre el tejido.  

Las hojas de los olivos, rosales, eucaliptos y ailantos que han sido estampadas en esta pieza fueron recogidas de manera respetuosa en su entorno más inmediato durante los paseos de confinamiento y han sido testigos silenciosos de ese momento inédito. 

A través de la recolección se logra capturar el paisaje y la técnica del ecoprint permite revelar esa imagen de hojas y flores sobre la prenda, como si de una fotografía se tratara. 

Este proceso tiene una parte importante de ritual, recoger cuidadosamente las plantas, acondicionar y mordentar el tejido, uno a uno, para recibir el color y la forma de cada pieza. Además, las flores y hojas se tratan previamente para que puedan transferir el color, luego se disponen sobre la tela y se enrollan individualmente. Se colocan en una olla con vapor, donde pasan un par horas y luego reposan varios días hasta que se puede abrir el rollo. 

El resultado es una pieza única, al igual que todas las hojas y flores cuyo aspecto final puede variar ligeramente debido a la composición y la estacionalidad de las plantas. La entrega se lleva a cabo en un paño de algodón con las plantas utilizadas para realizar la estampación y las etiquetas se confeccionan con el material sobrante.

An edition of Top TIMESTILL handcrafted by Taller Silvestre in collaboration with the British firm COSSAC through ECOPRINT. It is a botanical printing technique that uses plants directly on the fabric.

The leaves of the olive trees, rose bushes, eucalyptus and ailanthus that have been stamped on this piece were collected in a respectful way in their immediate surroundings during the confinement walks and have been silent witnesses of that unprecedented moment.

Through the collection it is possible to capture the landscape and the ecoprint technique allows to reveal that image of leaves and flowers on the garment, as if it were a photograph.

This process has an important part of ritual, carefully collecting the plants, conditioning and biting the fabric, one by one, to receive the color and shape of each piece. In addition, the flowers and leaves are pre-treated so that they can transfer the color, then they are laid out on the fabric and individually rolled. They are placed in a steamed pot, where they spend a couple hours and then rest for several days until the roll can be opened.

The result is a unique piece, like all the leaves and flowers whose final appearance may vary slightly due to the composition and seasonality of the plants. The delivery is carried out on a cotton cloth with the plants used to make the stamping and the labels are made with the excess material.
